I have been blogging for about 4 years now and I believe that niche blogging is better than personal blogging, since advertiser usually advertise at niche blogs and not on the Personal blogs.
If you are really into professional blogging, it is better to have your Dedicated Servers that will have all your blogs, to avoid problem later on if you have a high traffic site. Those blogs that has a high visitors usually invest for Dedicated servers so not to have any downtimes.
So what is the differences of Having a free hosting service rather than having a dedicated servers ? Well there are really big differences since if you have a dedicated servers you have full control over it, but if you have a free hosting site, the site might be removed anytime since you don't own the space.
It is something like you make your house in an area where you don't own the land. So an investment for dedicated servers or shared hosting in the earlier stage is suggested.
Usually dedicated servers is being paid in accordance to your needed bandwidth plus the yearly payment.
So the decision is yours , it is also suggested to have your own domain name which will only cost for about $10 each.
