Superbowl 43 – Head Coach

It is only right to know who is behind the scene when it come to the games, I am talking about the Coaches of Each team. I have research a bot about them and here is what I found.

The Super Bowl coaches — the Cardinals’ Ken Whisenhunt, left, and the Steelers’ Mike Tomlin — are both in their second season.

Who is Moore Whisenhunt

Kenneth "Ken" Moore Whisenhunt (born February 28, 1962 in Augusta, Georgia) is the American football head coach of the Arizona Cardinals NFL football team, leading them to the first Super Bowl in franchise history during the 2008 season. Previously, he was known for his well engineered offensive plays, including the success he had with the Pittsburgh Steelers in his 3 years as their offensive coordinator under Bill Cowher and winning Super Bowl XL during the 2005 season. More here

Who is Mike Tomlin

Mike Tomlin (born March 15, 1972) is an American football head coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League. Tomlin is the third youngest head coach in any of the four major North American professional sports. He is the tenth African-American head coach in NFL history, and first in Steelers history. Tomlin is the third African-American head coach and, with the Steelers' victory in the AFC Championship Game on January 18, 2009, became the youngest head coach to lead his team to a Super Bowl. More Here

So the next time your friends will ask you on who is the coach of those 2 giant Team. You know what to answer.

There has been NEWS that the Animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals claims NBC is refusing to air its rather provocative Super Bowl ad.

The PETA ad "Veggie Love" has lingerie models frolicking amid broccoli and pumpkins with a tagline saying that "Studies Show Vegetarians Have Better Sex."

The ad was rejected for allegedly having depicted a level of sexuality exceeding our standards."

NBC's list of suggested edits after the jump.

PETA asked NBC what it would take for the commercial to air. NBC suggested the following cuts be made:

:12- :13- licking pumpkin
:13- :14- touching her breast with her hand while eating broccoli
:19- pumpkin from behind between legs
:21- rubbing pelvic region with pumpkin
:22-  screwing herself with broccoli  (fuzzy)
:23- asparagus on her lap  appearing as if it is ready to be inserted into vagina
:26- licking eggplant
:26- rubbing asparagus on breast

January 27, 2009 (TAMPA) -- When Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band play the Super Bowl halftime show this Sunday, you can be assured you're hearing it as they're playing it.

Guitarist Nils Lofgren says Springsteen made it clear that they will not record anything in advance. He says that makes the NFL and the networks nervous, but out of respect for Springsteen, that's how it's going to be.

Lofgren says they haven't made a set list yet but he imagines they will play "Born to Run." He says they have 400 songs to choose from and they get only 12 minutes to play, so figuring out transitions to songs is what they'll be doing all this week.

Ever wonder what will be the cost of having an ad in 2009 Superbowl 43 , the final match between two champions for the National Football League championship.

Here are the list of Ads taken from http://thetvadguru.blogspot.com

  • There will be an ad competition between Monster Worldwide (who have not aired a Super Bowl commercial for four years) and careerbuilder.com.

  • Five minutes of Anheuser-Busch. Budweiser, Bud Light, maybe even Bud Light Lime.

  • Coke... although Pepsi paid a premium to keep them out of the first half.

  • Pedigree dog food will air their first ad ever in the Super Bowl.

  • Bridgestone will sponsor the halftime show and will run two 30-second ads.

  • Cars.com has a 60-second ad in the second quarter.

  • Doritos will have at least one 30-second ad.

  • GE, owner of NBC, will run a spot.

  • GoDaddy: at least one 30-second ad.

  • Hyundai will present two commercials for their Genesis Coupe.

  • The NFL will air one 60-second spot during halftime.

  • PepsiCo Beverages are sure to make an appearance with their new branding.

  • Movie trailers: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Star Trek, Monsters vs. Aliens, and 2012

And here are some related post that I made regarding Commercials and Half time shows

Monstrous Superbowl commercials are going 3-D this year. Both Pepsi Co. and DreamWorks are dealing with the logistics of distributing the 125 million pairs of special glasses required to experience the full effect of their new ads set to show around halftime during the big game on February 1, 2009.

Pepsi will have dancing amphibians in their SoBe Lifewater beverage spot, while a promo for the upcoming animated movie “Monsters vs. Aliens” will also be projected over the airwaves with Intel InTru 3D technology.

The cost of the coveted commercial spot is said to be around $3 million dollars so the promoters are hoping people will pick up the free 3-D glasses and enjoy the ads. Here’s a sneak peek.

Kansas City has a lot riding on Super Bowl XLIII. While the Chiefs won't be competing for a Super Bowl ring, the city's neediest will be big winners. Thanks to American Restaurant's chef, Debbie Gold, the Kansas Food Bank will receive a portion of the funds raised at the big game's biggest fundraiser -- Taste of the NFL (TNFL). With demand at food banks at an all time high, this legendary Super Bowl fundraiser's cause -- tackling hunger in America -- is more important than ever.

After they fired Coach Jon Gruden and general manager Bruce Allen they have made up their mind to promote Raheem Morris to head coach and Mark Dominik to general manager.

"We have fundamental beliefs, fundamental beliefs that have been in our blood since we got here," Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer said in explaining the firings. "Character is important; championships are important; having a franchise that the community can be proud of is important.

"And this is not to say that we were totally off the direction there. But that's what we believe in, and if you believe you've gone off course a little bit, then it's our job to pick it up and put it back on course."

A National Football League source confirmed to the Tribune late Friday that the team will make Morris, 32, the league's youngest head coach and rely on Dominik's 14 years of experience with the Bucs to lead the front office.

Tampa Bay and the Super Bowl await the winners of Sunday's AFC and NFC championship games. Will it be Baltimore or Pittsburgh? Philadelphia or Arizona?

Host Scott Simon talks with Weekend Edition's Howard Bryant, senior writer for ESPN.com and ESPN the Magazine.

Here are the super bowl | Superbowl schedule in different country.

Superbowl schedule International broadcasts Canada

Canadian English language network CTV is expected to air NBC's broadcast of the game live throughout Canada. Although NBC itself is legally available in Canada, CTV is expected to request simultaneous substitution for the game, which would result in most Canadians being unable to view the NBC feed (and thus the US commercials) even if they otherwise have access to NBC.The game will also air on the French cable channel RDS.

Mexico

The game will be broadcast on Televisa and will be available in HD.

United Kingdom

This year's Super Bowl will be broadcast from 10pm GMT on Sky Sports and BBC One (only one of two NFL games broadcast on the BBC, the other being the international series). Sky Sports' NFL host, Kevin Cadle, will be in the studio with guests throughout the event, while co-presenter Nick Halling will be live in Tampa and will provide analysis live from the event itself.

Australia

The NBC game broadcast will be relayed live by ESPN, which is carried on pay TV networks Foxtel and Austar. NBC game breaks, the pre-game show hosted by Bob Costas, and NBC half-time analysis will all not be relayed if ESPN follows its usual method; a ESPN voice-over commentator will introduce the game, review highlights of the Conference Championship games and narrate half-time highlights with NBC commentary (Michaels and Madden) switched in only for actual play.

Germany

German television channel ARD Das Erste will begin live broadcasting from 00.00 CET.

Sweden

Swedish television channel TV6 (Sweden) will begin live broadcasting from 00.00 CET.

Italy

RAI will broadcast Super Bowl live on Rai Due and the digital transmission will be in 16:9 and HD if supported.

Europe

The Super Bowl will be transmitted live on NASN. The Super Bowl is also the first broadcast of ESPN America (The new name of NASN Europe).

Latin America

ESPN Latin America will broadcast the Super Bowl live in analog format, with the Pregame beggining at 17:00 COT.

Radio

On radio, Westwood One has the national broadcast rights to the game in the United States and Canada. Marv Albert and Boomer Esiason will be the announcing team for the network. Univision Radio/United Stations will carry a Spanish language version hosted by Clemson Smith-Muniz and David Crommett.

BBC Radio 5 Live will carry the game in the UK, with Arlo White commentating. More networks will be announced in the days to come.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fire Jon Gruden, Bruce Allen

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fired head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Bruce Allen.

The news, first reported by Adam Schefter of NFL Network, represents a stunning fall from grace for Gruden, who was the toast of the league after winning the Super Bowl following the 2002 season. But in the six seasons since then, the Bucs actually have a sub-.500 record under Gruden.

Buccaneers co-chairman Joel Glazer released the following statement:

"We will be forever grateful to Jon for bringing us the Super Bowl title, and we thank Bruce for his contributions to our franchise. However after careful consideration, we feel that this decision is in the best interest of our organization moving forward."
The 2008 season was emblematic of the problems Tampa Bay has had with Gruden at the helm. The Bucs were 9-3 at the start of December and looked like one of the best teams in the league, but they collapsed down the stretch, finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs, and Gruden and Allen have now paid for it with their jobs.

Lingerie Bowl finds home at Pasco nudist resort

Lingerie Bowl VI finally found the perfect home: The Caliente nudist resort in Pasco County.

The event, which will be held Jan. 31 and broadcast on pay-per-view during Super Bowl halftime, features barely dressed women playing full-contact football. This year's Tampa Bay Breeze and Miami Caliente teams were hoping to play at a vacant lot at Rome Avenue north of Kennedy Boulevard, but neighborhood groups opposed the games.

Tampa City Council also threw out a request from California's Horizon Productions to close streets in West Tampa for the event after learning the company didn't have the proper insurance.

Caliente Resort, however, welcomed the Lingerie Bowl with open arms.

"It's a venue that courted us for quite some time," Horizon Productions' Stephon McMillen said. "Certainly we're going to be the main attraction out there."

Chicago-based FirstDIBZ, whose novel Internet marketplace allowed Cubs fans to purchase options on future playoff and World Series tickets for bargain prices last summer, says it's a victim of fraud involving hundreds of would-be Super Bowl ticket-holders.

The privately owned company says it was "scammed" by two or more computer hackers who fraudulently sold the rights to Super Bowl tickets they did not have.

The fallout has caused an uproar among more than 200 customers who believed they were getting Super Bowl tickets on the FirstDIBZ Web site for as little as $17 over face value, a hoax that has million-dollar implications.

The company has been in existence for eight years and says this is a first for it. The company sent e-mails to buyers involved in the fraud, promising to refund the price of the "DIBZ" plus transaction fees.

36,38,39        New England Patriots
37        Tampa Bay Buccaneers
40        Pittsburgh Steelers
41        Indianapolis Colts
42        New York Giants

43 ???????

Now whom do you think will be the Superbowl XLIII Winner

Right now Pittsburgh is the favorite at 3/2, second is Philly at 7/4, third is Baltimore at 7/2, and last is Arizona at 5-1. Really think that this should be flipped between 1st and 2nd because the Eagles beat up the Steelers earlier this year handing them there worst loss of the season.

Pittsburgh Steelers (3/2)- Best record of any team left has led them to the favorite spot.

Philadelphia Eagles (7/4)- Definitely have the easier match up this weekend.

Baltimore Ravens (7/2)- The best of the underdog teams this weekend you have to give them a chance with the best defense remaining.

Arizona Cardinals (5-1)- My last power ranking of the season had this team at number thirteen.
